The Lewiston High School Drama Club took several members of the theatre program to the Idaho High School Activities Association District Competition on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum, Idaho.
At the district competition, five LHS students advanced to compete at the state level. In the solo musical category, Caroline Gibbs, senior, placed 1st. Gabby Stenzel earned 2nd in makeup design. Ellie Hafer, senior, placed 3rd in costume design. In solo musical, Eve Schmidt, senior, and Aubrey Marran, sophomore, placed 5th and 10th respectively.
The all-day competition had roughly 300 participating members, according to Mel Syverson, the drama director. The top three students in each category advanced to the state competition at Thunder Ridge High School in Idaho Falls Dec. 6 and 7. At state, Lewiston students did not place.
