LHS wins Battle of the Bridges on Sept. 9 at Adams Field.

Everyone knows the Lewiston High School student section is one you don’t want to miss. In photos from past years, a sea of students decked out in purple and gold immediately catches the attention of viewers. Lewiston students engage in the game, yell cheers with cheerleaders and even start chants of their own to distract the opposing team. Overall, Lewiston High School has a student section everybody wants to be in.

At the first home game of the season, the student section did not disappoint; everyone was garbed in purple and gold, cheering at the top of their lungs and had overall amazing energy. Students were following along with the cheerleaders, and the band did an amazing job pumping up the student section.

The Battle of the Bridges spirit week themes were pajama, country vs country club, twin day and, of course, Bengal pride day. The day people dressed up the most was on Friday for Bengal pride. The pep assembly at the end of the week was a great kick-off to Battle of the Bridges that included teaching cheers to students, a game kick-off video and a dance battle between students and Joe Bengal.

Overall, the Lewiston student section knows how to get a student section loud and proud, and it’s obviously paying off, seeing that we have won each home game.
