Business Professionals of America headed to California

The LHS Business Professionals of America competed at a state competition Feb. 23-24 in Boise.

Twelve LHS students competed at BPA State in broadcasting, marketing and other events. Participants in the broadcasting news event, along with the design team, pre-submitted videos or podcasts, which they then presented to judges. Other events, such as marketing exams, involved answering multiple-choice questions.

“All 12 qualified for nationals,” said Golden Steele, the adviser of LHS BPA.

Seyi Arogundade, a participant in BPA State, shared her experience competing as a senior.

“I was super-nervous for BPA State because our presentation involved a lot of moving parts,” she said. “Thankfully, our presentation went smoothly. I am so thankful I was part of a team that did their parts well.”

The 12 qualifiying students will go on to compete at BPA Nationals in Anaheim, California, April 26-30.

“I am super-excited for nationals in Anaheim,” Arogundade said.
