In August, Golden Steele won the Secondary Teacher of the Year Award for the 2022-23. At LHS, Steele is the adviser for yearbook, ASB, Business Professionals of America and sports broadcasting. He is also an assistant coach for the LHS varsity football team. This school year will be Steele’s 12th year working at LHS.
Steele is an accomplished staff member who has received a number of accolades for his career technical education at LHS. In June, he received the Digital Media Production Program award presented by the Idaho Division of Career Technical Education. This award recognizes teachers across the state of Idaho for promoting quality career technical education. Students who have worked with Steele for the past few school years reported that he has done many meaningful things for them.
Lauren Martin said, “[Steele] has taught me a lot of the technological skills I have today and his classes are really informative about leadership and teamwork.”
Forrest Delka-Wicks said he was grateful for Steele because “he gives me the freedom to do what I want and trusts me.”
