The Lewiston Tribune, each week, sends out a poll for the community to vote on to determine the prep athlete of the week. There are about five athletes to vote from, all from different schools. Lewiston’s running back, Jackson Lathen, was nominated for prep athlete of the week and won. On Sept. 30th Lathen scorded five touchdowns and rushed 238 yards at Lewistons homecoming game against the Moscow Bears. Lathen has broken school records his senior year, leaving his mark in the football program for years to come. Lathen is proud of the seniors on the team stepping up after last year’s seniors leaving. When asked about future college and football plans, Lathen says, “I haven’t decided if I’m going to continue football in college, but if I do, I hope to succeed and play to the best of my ability.” Coach Pancheri describes Jackson as, “a great running back. He is quick, can outrun guys, and is physical.” Pancheri hopes he creates a good life for himself and does something he enjoys, football or not.
