Groundbreaking for Phase II of the new LHS campus occurred Saturday, Oct. 21.
Phase II is the sports complex, which will include a stadium that can host discus, boy’s and girl’s Soccer, boy’s and girl’s track and football, also included is a softball complex with four softball fields, restrooms, concessions, practice fields and a baseball stadium.
The project will cost a little more than $10 million, and will be around 66 acres in size, according to an interview with the Bengal’s Purr Lewiston School District Superintendent Lance Hansen.
The current stage of Phase II will be completed around October of 2024. The construction is being done by the following companies, Kenaston Corporation, M.L. Albright & Sons, Lucky Acres, United Concrete, Living Waters, and more.
Hansen hopes that the construction will bring in more donations and interest to the project.
Donations include around $5 million from P1FCU, $75 thousand from the DeAtley Family and $50 thousand from Mark Alexander. The athletic venues will be open to the public during the summer and will be available to rent during the school year.
