Lewiston High School’s football team ended the season with 4 wins and 5 losses. Their last game took place on Oct. 20, in Coeur d’Alene, ending in a 16-29 loss.
Drew Hottinger, quarterback of the football team, was an option for P1FCU’s Prep Athlete of the Week in October. Hottinger got 296 yards of total offense and two touchdowns in LHS’s game against Lake City on Oct. 13, which resulted in a 22-6 win for Lewiston.
“We had a great season and our team got better each week. We were physical and competitive,” Matthew Pancheri, head coach of the LHS football team, said. Pancheri prides his team on enjoying the sport and believes more time in the weight room during the off-season will help them improve. Seniors, in particular, are working hard and getting better each week during their last football season.
The new football stadium, under construction right outside of LHS, is highly-anticipated by the football team, players and coaches alike. The stadium is due to be finished sometime in Oct. of 2024.
