The LHS baseball coaches Darren Trainor and Brooks Juhasz are preparing JV and Varsity for the upcoming season.
“As a first-year coach at Lewiston, my priority was building relationships with the players,” said Juhasz. “We had a great turnout during the optional winter workout that allowed me to get to know the players as individuals and a collective unit.”
Tryouts were Feb. 23, 24 and 26, and practices are Monday through Friday at Church Field after school.
Juhasz is looking forward to seeing how they will execute in situations with the runners on base, and how competitive they will be in the batter’s box.
“Key factors to building a successful tea include creating a culture that players buy into, and cultivating an environment that is process-orientated,” Juhasz explained. “If the players collectively buy in and trust the process, as a coach that is a success.”
The team has several sophomores, and Juhasz add that he’s looking forward to seeing them take great strides on the mound this year.
