Leann Nilsson, one of Lewiston High School’s beloved librarians, retired Dec. 1, 2023. Nilsson worked for LHS for 15 years, and for the school district for 25 years. She expressed that her favorite memories from working at LHS had to do with creating bonds with the people she was surrounded by.
“[I loved] building relationships with staff and students, and working in the ‘sky box’ at [the] old LHS,” Nilsson said.
According to Nilsson, challenges she was faced with while doing her work would be a significant loss, but she would mainly miss the company of those she worked with.
“I miss the routine and being challenged by my job, but especially all the librarians I worked with,” she explained.
With retirement comes multiple new opportunities. In retirement she is spending more time with her family and friends, and she expects to do much more traveling and camping.
