Softball hits the season out of the park

The Bengal varsity softball team had a successful season so far, with an overall record of 15 wins and 10 losses. As of May 9, the team ranked 13th in the 5A division and 27th in the state, according to Max Preps.
Junior Jenna Barney led with stats including an RBI at 41 and eight home runs. Barney also ranked third in the state with a slugging percentage of 1.348.
Ava Thorson, sophomore, had 13 stolen bases this season, two home runs, and an RBI at 13.
Fielding percentage was led by Senior Catrin Reel with .978.
The May 9 playoff game against Post Falls High School ended with a win for the Bengals and a final score of 7-4. The next playoff game against Capital High School was May 11. The final score was 1-12.
