Dear Mrs. Egland,
The senior class has spent many years with you as our teacher; some have even spent three and a half years on the staff. It has been one of the school’s best and most educational experiences thus far. In this class, we have learned to work as a team to put out a product that we are proud of, and it would only be a fraction as exceptional without your dedication. You have spent countless hours editing each page to make sure they are just right, and through that, you have taught us that even the small details matter in making our newspaper. Without you as our teacher, there is no possible way that our issues would be as outstanding as they are, and we are so grateful that you are our teacher. We love you and hope the generations after us experience your significant influence.
Sincerely,
Senior staff of the 2023-2024 Bengal’s Purr
Dear Seniors,
Watching you grow into not only incredibly talented writers, but also into multifaceted, passionate, outgoing and well-rounded human beings has been the highlight of this year. Time and again, you face adversity with grace and kindness, and never fail to pick up where others have fallen off. Trust that the dedication you have put into the production of the Bengal’s Purr has not gone unnoticed, and every time somebody reminisces on the beautiful pieces you have helped produce, your names will stand out to those truly impacted. Thank you for everything you have sacrificed and provided, for all the wisdom you have passed on to us, for all the times you could have ripped our heads off but didn’t, simply because you knew everything would be okay in the end. You have given us a shoulder to lean on and an ear for every pointless story, and for that we are eternally grateful. Your futures are so bright, and you will achieve everything you set your heart and mind to. Thank you, and good luck.
Sincerely,
Cub staff of the 2023-2024 Bengal’s Purr
To my seniors of 2024,
Each group of Purr seniors is dear to me, but y’all are precious for your own reason. You are the first group of seniors who I’ve had in class all the way from 9th grade. You were the first-ever freshmen at LHS. Historic! You found my classroom in the middle of a bizarre pandemic. And you picked my newspaper! Thank you!! I’ve had the privilege of seeing each of you grow into an adult. The transformations have been truly astounding, and I feel so privileged to have accompanied each of you through the years. Go do amazing things! The world needs you!!
Sincerely,
Charity Egland, adviser of Bengal’s Purr
My dear Cubs,
Hey! Let’s do something fun! Let’s do the Purr like it’s never been done before. You are innovators! You are prolific writers! You are compassionate people who care about word usage! I’m excited to see where all of that takes us. Thank you for choosing to be part of the next generation of Purr students. You are my heroes.
Sincerely,
Charity Egland, adviser of Bengal’s Purr
