All LHS students can sign up to compete in the Idaho Battle of the Books through Friday, Nov. 22.
The Idaho Battle of the Books is a student competition and it is strictly based on answering questions about 12 selected books.
Participants will compete in two teams, and each member should register individually. Additionally, every member must attend the same high school.
“Battles” within the schools will begin after Christmas break, so it’s important to start reading as soon as possible!
The twelve books are as follows: Any Sign of Life by Rae Carson, Bluebird by Sharon Cameron, Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah, Dry by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman, Fable by Adrienne Young, The Invincible Summer of Juniper Jones by David Mcqueen, Lovely War by Julie Berry, Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong by Prudence Shen and Faith Erin Hicks, The Silence That Binds Us by Joanna Ho, Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim, Thieves’ Gambit by Kayvion Lewis, and We Are All That’s Left by Carrie Arcos.
All of the books will be available in the LHS library, and teams can meet whenever they deem necessary, however, there will be specific library times available for meetings and activities.
All information was found on the LHS-IBOB flyer which can be found in locations all over the school.
If you are having trouble signing up, help is available in the library or at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc964G1eDBxDhWRfDNdU9dbAa4kNasK6mAyDP5jBaV13iFToQ/viewform.
