The 2024 Bengals’ varsity football season ended early this month with a loss in their first playoff game on Nov. 9 against Twin Falls. According to Maxpreps.com, the Bengals ended with a record of 5-5.
These five wins were hard-earned, such as the miracle win against Coeur d’Alene at home on Sep. 5 with a score of 13-7 and the Battle of the Bridges blowout on Sep. 13 with a score of 49-0. The losses, such as the most recent season-ending game against Twin Falls with a score of 9-31, were also devastating.
Aidan McFetridge, Junior, served as the team’s sports recorder this season. He said his favorite part of the work was taking photos and videos.
“ You get to see and capture all of the action as it unfolds from as close as a couple of feet away,” McFetridge said.
Cornerback Brennan Rice (junior) said that his favorite part of the season happened on Oct. 4 when Rice got the interception against Hermiston High School during the final game at Bengal Field.
Overall the season was a great one, especially with the new football field that the Bengals students, staff, and community have all enjoyed. The Bengals are looking forward to the next football season and hoping to break in the field some more.
