The LHS varsity volleyball team recently wrapped up the end of their 2024 season. Afterward, a couple of the players reflected on their season.
Ava Thorson, a junior who is a passer on the team, shared her favorite memory from the season.
“It was probably when we had Dad Practice and our dads came to practice with us,” she said. “It was just really funny.”
Thorson also spoke about her favorite things about the team.
“Probably the ‘minions,’ who are the other passers. We’re all just really funny and encourage each other,” she said.
Thorson also enjoyed their pre-game routines.
“I put my Beats in and listen to old Drake songs, or we all have a dance party in the locker room and manifest,” she said.
Addy McKarcher is a senior outside hitter who sometimes plays middle blocker. She said she and the team had a successful season. The team’s biggest accomplishments included beating big teams like Lake City, Coeur d’Alene, and Lakeland.
McKarcher was also happy to see Lewiston host district competitions for the first time in about eight years.
“The last time we hosted was when our coach was playing, and our record is pretty good,” McKarcher said.
As a senior, McKarcher talked about how she felt playing for the last time as a Bengal. Their last game was at Lakeland, bringing home a Bengal victory.
“I love the community, my team, and our student section really showed up this year,” she said. “I’m really happy to be able to play volleyball as a Bengal. I couldn’t imagine playing with any other team.”
