The most recent Golden Throne games between Lewiston and Clarkston high schools took place on Jan. 26, 2024, at the LCSC Activity Center. The varsity men’s game ended with a victory for the Bengals.
For insights into this year’s game, here’s a review of the January match-up, which was live-streamed by the LHS Sports Broadcasting students.
The men’s game started off with the Bantams making the first basket. But at the end of the first quarter, the scoreboard foreshadowed the Bengals’ victory with the score being Lewiston 18 and Clarkston 10.
Starting off the second quarter, the Bantams yet again made the first point and continued to fight their way back to the top of the scoreboard. The score before halftime left Clarkston with 27 points and Lewiston with 29.
Unlike the beginning of the first two quarters, the Bengals were able to take hold of the third and fourth by scoring the first point. During the last three seconds of the third quarter, the Bantams took a shot but missed, leaving the score at Lewiston 39 and Clarkston 35.
Throughout the last quarter, the Bengals scored 18 more points, with the Bantams scoring 12. The final score was Lewiston 57 and Clarkston 47, the Bengals 10 points ahead.
