Lewis-Clark State College hosted a Creative Writing Contest for high school students to win the opportunity to win a chance to be an L-C State Creative Writing Student for a day.
The college received entries from many students. Participants were instructed to pick one of the following choices for submission; submit 3 to 5 poems, one long piece of fiction, a creative nonfiction (1,000-4,000 words), a novel excerpt (under 4,000 words), a short play, or a film script (under 4,000 words). These submissions were accepted up until Jan. 31, 2025.
The winner of this competition will receive a “day in the life” of a creative writing student event at L-C State in late February or early March. They will also get to participate in a series of fiction, poetry, playwriting, screenwriting, and/or creative nonfiction workshops with experiences, published by L-C State faculty. Along with these opportunities, the winner will also receive a session on the various types of jobs available for creative writing majors. Finally, they will get a special tour of the L-C State campus.
This event was sponsored by LC State’s Bachelor of Fine Arts Program, along with the offices of Admissions and Student Affairs. For more information, visit the following link to find out more about this program.
