The LHS varsity cheer team has had an unmatched competition season. Having made it to state with a winning streak, the varsity team competed one last time on Feb. 28 at the Idaho Center in Nampa where they placed 3rd overall.
This winter they won first place in every category in their performances Jan. 11, Jan. 25, Feb. 1, and Feb. 15.
Their three categories included pom, sideline, and show.
At districts Feb. 15 at Coeur d’Alene High School, the Bengal cheerleaders placed first place overall and were deemed grand champions.
Their first performance was at their home gym Jan. 11. From there they traveled to the Treasure Valley Cheer Invitational in Boise, and showcased their routines Jan. 25, again placing first in all three categories in the 5A division and being deemed overall grand champions out of all major high schools in PLACE.
Varsity cheerleader, Kyla Nesset, was excited after the team won first place in their Feb. 1 competition at Lakeland High School.
“I really love our team this year,” Nesset said. “Everyone is close and works together as a team and we are super excited to compete at state and hopefully bring home a state title.”
