Members of Lewiston High School’s Nez Perce Language classes went to Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) on Wednesday, March 19, to compete in the Knowledge Bowl.
The Knowledge Bowl was one of the events that was hosted as part of the 38th Annual Native American Awareness Week by LCSC on Wednesday.
Participating students from LHS placed in the top 10. The group from LHS that placed the highest, third place, included Mackenzie Coimbra, Destiny Ellenwood, and Jessa Hartwig. Each of them will receive $75 for their achievement.
Other students that participated are Kyrstin Ailor, Mayson Bohn, Maryssa Clements, Delaney Denton, Grace-Lynn Gibson, Zoe Grassel, Hallie Lehman, Ryan Mattoon, Julia Nunez, Sebastian Nunez, Landen Rawson, and Orianah White.
There were also other teams from the other three Nez Perce speaking reservations: the Colville Tribe from Nespelem, Washington, the Umatilla Tribe from Mission, Oregon, and the Nez Perce Tribe from Lapwai and Lewiston, Idaho.
