Bengal Royalty Has Been Crowned

Ty Lewis and Jazmyn Smith were announced as the prom king and queen on May 3 during the Lewiston High School “Bengals in Vegas” Senior Prom.

There were six nominees for the royalty, and The Bengal Update announced the nominees. Prom King nominees were Cole Guzman, Brandon Holderbaum, and Lewis. Prom Queen nominees were Lauren Gibbs, Joely Slyter, and Smith.

Lewis has been a part of the football team and was also the manager for the basketball team.

“My favorite Bengal tradition is the big game pep assemblies like the Battle of the Bridges and Golden Throne assemblies,” said Lewis.

During the dance, the students had access to a Five Star Student survey that let them vote for both the king and queen. Around 9 p.m., the voting was closed, and the winners were announced and crowned. The teachers nominated students who they felt embodied the Bengal Way.
