A recent survey created by Bengal’s Purr asked the Class of 2025 to recap their high school career. The questions ranged from highlights of senior year to what they wish they had heard as freshmen. Here are some highlights from the seniors who responded.
The first question asked if senior year was worth the hype, and 75.4% of seniors said yes, and 24.6% said no. This leads to the following question: Which year of high school was the best? Senior year won the majority with 66.7% voting, it was the best, with a close second and third. 17.5% of seniors voted that Junior year was the best, with 15.8% believing sophomore year was the best.
Seniors were then asked to share their college choice, with the top five, in order being Lewis-Clark State College, the University of Idaho, Boise State University, Washington State University, and Brigham Young University. Following, the top 10 reported majors were Business Management, Nursing, Criminology, Psychology, Dental Hygiene, Radiographic Science, Secondary Education, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and finally, Animal Sciences.
Many students said their post-graduation plans are college/university, with 73.2% of students, and others plan on attending trade school (14.3%), the Military (5.4%), the workforce (21.4%), or are undecided (12.5%).
Next, they were given a series of free-response questions that were anonymous. For instance, the seniors were asked to give tips they have for the Class of 2026(upcoming seniors). Their responses were highly inspirational.
“Don’t stress yourself out. There are so many things that are going on, and if you create stress for yourself, you won’t enjoy the good parts about being a senior”, shared an anonymous senior.
When asked what they have learned throughout their high school experience, one senior said, “Being involved throughout the school is the best way to put yourself out there and meet new people.”
Another senior spoke about their knowledge over their four years of high school, “The best memories occur through the unexpected. Take every chance to make a good memory.”
Finally, the seniors were asked to reflect on their freshman year and write a note to their freshman self. One senior wrote, “Don’t wish your life away. High school is great. Take time to enjoy it. It goes by so fast. You are awesome, just be yourself through everything.”
