Kevin Driskill

became a principal after teaching for 19 years. He has always wanted to lead and help instructors in any way possible, he said. Driskill’s plan for retirement is to go elk hunting all fall. He will split his time in Lewiston and Rio Rancho, New Mexico, with his girlfriend, Heidi McRoberts, a Forest Supervisor on the Cibola National Forest. He also plans to find another job to keep busy. “I’m retiring– I’m not dying!” Driskill said.

Chad Arlint

has been an Assistant Principal for Lewiston High School for 13 years. Arlint is moving to Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to become an Assistant Principal at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year. Arlint said he wants to “encourage students and teachers to grow and develop.” he looks forward to sharing his experience and knowledge with the staff at LCHS. He shared some encouraging words to LHS students and staff: “Be good. Do good.”

Jolyn Hobson

has been part of the administration at Lewiston High School for five years, and she has worked 12 years in education. Hobson taught fifth and sixth grade at Heights Elementary School in Clarkston before becoming an Assistant Principal at LHS. Next school year, she will work in Lewiston at Whitman Elementary School as the principal. She said she will miss everyone at LHS– the students, and the staff.

Kelly Carper

has been teaching for 33 years, with 25 years in Lewiston. He began teaching English and History in Aberdeen, Washington. In Lewiston he taught social studies at Sacajawea Middle School, and then transferred to teach social studies at LHS. For retirement, Carper plans to spend more time with his family and work in his shop. He shared that he will miss relationships with students and fellow teachers. “The best part of teaching was witnessing students deepening their understanding of a difficult concept, and being able to apply that understanding to various situations,” he said.

Debbie Wassmuth

has been teaching for 21 years at Lewiston High School, including classes for Nursing, Health Occupations, and Medical Terminology. Wassmuth’s plans for retirement are traveling and working part-time. “I’m going to miss everyone, mostly my students,” she said. She added that she has enjoyed the time she’s spent with students over the last 21 years.

Darlene McCann

has taught in Lewiston for 18 years, including English and Creative Writing at LHS. McCann’s plan for retirement is to travel, possibly to Europe. Her favorite memory about teaching here has been watching her students succeed, she said. Her last words to LHS are, “You guys are awesome!”

Mathew Pancheri

has been teaching history for 16 years, and he has worked as head football coach at LHS. After this year, Pancheri is moving to Rexburg, Idaho. He said he will miss the great students at LHS, along with the staff and the athletes he has been so lucky to coach. “My favorite part about my job (has been) the daily interaction with the students here,” he said. “Go Bengals!”

Tom Leachman

has been teaching science for 36 years, with 22 at LHS. He taught Life Science at Sacajawea Middle School for 14 years. At LHS he has taught Anatomy and Biology. For retirement, Leachman plans to do competitive action shooting along with painting houses, and spenging lots of time outdoors. “I’ve enjoyed every bit of it,” he said of his time at LHS. “It’s gone very fast.”
