Tennis ends short season satisfied.
A short season for the LHS tennis teams came to an end in May 2017, they players still found joy however.
The season was short due to weather restrictions, but the players still found it enjoyable.
“I had so much fun this season, even though we only played a few games,” said RaeAnn Kirk, a junior who made varsity this year, and found lots of new friends.
While the season was short the matches they played were hard-fought and mostly won.
While the team didn’t make it to regionals or state, the players still had a way of showing gratitude towards each other.
“My favorite part of tennis is the social part,” said Ethan Jones. “It was fun to learn a new skill and meet new people doing it.”
With the end of tennis, the foreign exchange students on the team also begin to say good-bye for the school year. The LHS tennis teams also supported a large number of foreign exchange students. Since the team is so small, it is easy for the foreign students to join. The tryouts are simple, and relatively easy, said Sandi Stocks, head coach for the tennis teams
