Starting Dec. 5, LHS students have been at work to support the community with a food drive. On Dec. 5, 7, 11, 13 and 15, three boxes will be open for food donations located in the halls by the front doors. The three carts represent the senior, junior and sophomore classes. The food will be turned into homeroom classes (2B) then will go into the student’s box that has the grade on it.
Each day of the drive is reserved for a certain type of donation:
•Dec. 5 — Canned goods
•Dec. 7 — Boxed goods
•Dec. 11 — Peanut butter and jelly (and Nutella)
•Dec. 13 — Toiletries
•Dec. 15 — Perishables (including turkey, fruits, bread)
All food donated will be donated to families and individuals that are in need of food this winter through the Lewiston Food Bank. If the combined weights of the carts equal three tons by Dec. 15, students will receive a grand prize that will not be revealed unless it is won.
