Lady Bengals basketball sets hopes high for season
In the spirit of Listmas, The Bengal’s Purr brings this overview of the current varsity Lady Bengals basketball season.
The ladies’ basketball team is currently 7-1, hoping to change the record to 9-1 today at Booth Hall, at 7 p.m. versus the Coeur d’Alene Vikings.
The Bengals took on Kuna, beating the Kavemen 53-39 Nov. 17, at Kuna High School.
Nov. 18, the lady Bengals fell 26-56 to Boise High School for a non-league game.
Kicking off with their first home game Nov. 21, the girls’ basketball team blew out Timberlake 72-43, only scoring 7 of the total points the first quarter.
Taking on University High School out of Spokane Nov. 29 at Booth Hall, the new opponent put up a fight. But it was nothing the Bengals couldn’t handle.The ladies beat the Titans 57-52.
Switching up the schedule, the Bengals made their way to Hermiston, Oregon, to play against Hermiston and Evergreen Dec. 1 and 2. The Bengals placed first at the tournament, beating Hermiston (51-42) and Evergreen (79-37).
Although this isn’t the last game of the ladies’ season, the last game Purr staff was able to report on was Dec. 9, against Chiawana. The Bengals hosted the Riverhawks at home and won the game 47-33.
At press time, the scores for the Lewiston vs Pendleton game were not available.
