Ways to give back in 2021

With the holidays coming up, it’s important to find ways to give back to the community. One of the best ways to do this is by volunteering. Some places that are open to volunteering are food banks, animal shelters, and other non-profit organizations.
Lewiston’s food bank is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is always in need of volunteers to help organize, donate and hand out food.
Another option in the local area is L-C Valley Habitat For Humanity. This nonprofit organization has many locations and resources for volunteer work. There are two second-hand stores in the valley that are open to donations and volunteers. Habitat for Humanity often holds events for the community, such as fundraisers. All information for upcoming events is available on their website.
Another way to give back is by starting or participating in a food drive for families in need. Individuals can also visit nursing homes, write letters to senior citizens, donate clothing, or look for ways to help the people around them this winter.
