Baseball fights against rainy start
The baseball season was scheduled to start March 14, but due to the rain was postponed to March 17 when they played a doubleheader against Walla Walla and swept the series.
The score for the first game was 8-7, according to the Lewiston Tribune. The Bengals were behind 6-3 before working together to pull ahead by scoring five runs, and staying in the lead.
Going into the second game the Bengals were ahead 13-0, until the fifth inning when the Blue Devils got 12 runs.
“We played well, a few early errors but everything went as planned. I think we hit well early and had a good confidence level through it all,” said Jake Munoz, center fielder.
With two previous wins under their belts, the Bengals walked into the game March 19 against Sandpoint, and won 11-1.
The March 22 game, against Clarkston High School was canceled due to rain.
