Charity Egland, Adviser

Welcome to the Purr online! I stepped in as Purr adviser in the fall of 2013 at LHS, where I also teach Journalism and Spanish. The Purr was my birthplace as a journalist – I graduated here as a senior copyeditor in 1998, learning from Adviser Patrick Shannon. After that, I worked on news staff of the Vancouver Business Journal, North Bank magazine, and the Lewiston Tribune, as well as in public relations and freelance writing. In 2009 I was proud to debut “Strangers/Extranjeras,” the Spanish-English stageplay that I co-authored with Looking for Lilith Theatre Company. I have a Master’s degree in education from Portland State University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Lewis-Clark State College. I’m colorblind, I got married at a library, and I think teenagers are awesome.
