Lewiston’s BPA competed at the national competition in Anaheim, California, from April 26-29. Three LHS students placed in the top ten at the competition.
Asher Feucht placed 10th in Digital Media Production, Annika Huff placed 8th in Digital Marketing Concepts and 4th in Management Marketing and Human Research Concepts, and Ryan Click placed 1st in Digital Marketing Concepts and 8th in Management Marketing and Human Resources Concepts.
Click was one of the students who competed in an open test event, which requires competitors to answer 50 multiple-choice questions within a 60-minute time frame.
“[Winning the national title was the] happiest moment of my life. I don’t think I’ve smiled any wider than after I’d realized that I’d won,” said Click.
Click encourages students who are interested in business to find a sector of the business field that makes them feel accomplished when they finish a project. He believes that finding something that brings someone satisfaction is the best way to gain interest and understanding within the business field.
One way that Click prepared for the BPA competition was by expanding his knowledge of marketing concepts. “[The] marketing program here at LHS was… instrumental in helping me learn all of the things that I needed to do to be able to succeed in the Digital Marketing class,” he said.
Three other Lewiston teams competed at the national competition: a visual design team, a podcast team and a broadcast news team.
