Donald Trump inaugurated, local 4-H kids join in

The Jan. 20 inauguration of the 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, drew in crowds from all over the country, including a small crowd of spectators from a local 4-H group.
Nez Perce County Citizenship Washington Focus invited a handful of LHS students to take part in the opportunity of a lifetime — attending the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. Students attending from LHS included sophomores Cody Bloodsworth and Lydia McRoberts and senior Connor Jensen.
Citizenship Washington Focus, CWF, is an extension of Nez Perce County 4-H and serves the purpose of educating young adults on the importance of government on local and national levels. This is the first year that the program has been able to send students to a presidential inauguration.
Bloodsworth said that the experience gave him a patriotic feeling that he will never forget.
“Just standing there in front of the capitol building with thousands of other people while we all sang ‘God Bless America’ before the ceremony,” he said, “[it made me] appreciate all the work our founding fathers put into creating this great country of ours, and these freedoms that we take for granted these days.”
