Mason Smith demolishes with magic in Mr. LHS competition

Mason Smith won the Mr. LHS competition on Nov. 19 , and will be representing the school during the 2025-26 school year. He won against 11 other contestants, all seniors at LHS: Riley Campbell, John Clifford, Isaac Dover, Jackson Grossman, Hunter Harrell, Sam Kaufman, Elliot McCall, Dylan Miller, Skyles Smith, Grant Webb, and Easton Yount.

For his talent composition, Smith put out a very well-thought out performance called “Magic,” a funny compilation of tricks. It kept the audience entertained and was even interactive. It started with a failed attempt at hypnotism where the actors would not wake, then a card trick with Falling; then finally a classic “in half” trick.

During the interview portion, Mason Smith referenced Miss Congeniality in his answer about his ideal date. “April 25—it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket,” he said.

Each contestant was judged on performance and attitude. The two runners-up were Skyles Smith and Grant Webb. Harrell won the award for ‘Fitness’. Skyles won ‘Swimwear’. Webb won the talent award, Dover won the composure award. Mason was awarded for the interview, and McCall won LHS Spirit.
