Drivers can stop, won't stop

The LHS parking lot can be quite the mess. To get in and out, it’s often more of a hassle than it is convenient, and after that issue was covered in previous articles this school year, this spring it was time to find out why. Over two days, The Bengal’s Purr observed drivers at the Seven Devils Hall window, counting common traffic violations to see how many drivers were not following the rules in the LHS parking lot. On the first day, 21 cars did not stop for others in after-school traffic. That itself is not a traffic violation, but a common courtesy that 21 drivers seemed to lack. On the second day, 46 cars did not stop at the stop sign by the Seven Devils Hall window. Nearly 50 drivers did not follow this basic traffic law, and it was just at the one sign.
For drivers who don’t follow the traffic laws, there can be serious financial consequences, and that kind of trouble with the law can follow someone anywhere. The current school parking lot situation is far from ideal, but it’s on students and parents of LHS to fix it.
