Bengal girls, boys soccer season comes to an end

The Lady Bengals soccer team has had a historic season, ending with 11 wins and three losses. The team was number one in the 5A District 1 conference. The most impressive game the Bengals had was beating Post Falls 9-0 during two separate games. Sophomore Trinity Bonebrake won player of the game from Max Preps during a match against Owyhee. Bonebrake reports that her most memorable goal was against Sandpoint when she scored the only goal of the game, and it was her first high school goal.
“I think my larger goal is being a player later in life and winning not just for myself, but for the team, coach, and fans,” says Bonebrake when asked how she keeps herself motivated. Oct 10 was regionals against Lake City. The Bengals put on a great game but unfortunately lost 3-2.
The boys could’ve ended better. The season ended with an overall record of 2-12-1 and being 7th in the 5A district.
“I just love soccer. I play because it’s what I love to do. We had a rough season, and I could continue playing because I love the sport,” said Brittan Shatz (senior). Shatz also reported thatPurr that having relationships on the team is very crucial and builds chemistry.
