The 2025 Cross Country season officially kicked off a week before school started, with practice held every weekday after school in addition to summer running. The team competed in nine meets. The athletes have logged a total of 723.4 miles this school year, according to LHS athletes on www.athletic.net.

One of the season’s highlights was an overnight trip to Libby, Montana. Team member, Elise Godfrey, described the meet as “the biggest event of the cross country season.”

Fellow teammate, Tenley Taylor, noted that the trip allowed the team to grow both physically and mentally.

“The best parts of cross country are the friendships that you form and working together,” Taylor said. She also enjoys the team’s carb feeds.

The team’s goals for 2025 have been strong collaboration, always try their best, and run a Sub-25. (A 25-minute 5k)
