Lewiston wrestlers secure a state champ placement

Over the course of this wrestling season, after the district meet at Lakeland High School, seven boys and three girls qualified for districts, and three boys qualified for state. 

The LHS wrestlers achieved amazing results. Finishing with Parker Bagley (285) ending as the Idaho state champion, followed by Coen Roberts (150) and Mason Faling (157) in 4th.

Prior to the state, LHS wrestlers also placed greatly in districts, with Bagley, Roberts, Faling, and Kooper Bugner (120) placing first. Along with them, Brody Lynch (126), Riley Johnson (132), and Cameron Lamphere (138) are placing second, with Jimmy Sams (113), Sammie Slyter (135), and Kamryn Lockart (145) in third.

Sams is the team captain, and he mentioned his secret to success. 

“[It’s] just making sure everybody’s confident, and feeling good,” Sams said. 

Looking back at the season, he said it was incredible.

 “Everybody was having fun, and it was probably one of the best seasons of the team,” Sams said.
