Cafe Reuben’s signature sandwich waits to be eaten

Located next to the Lewis-Clark State College campus at 607 Seventh Ave., Lewiston’s Cafe Reuben offers up its own signature Reuben in a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant puts the classic sandwich in its very name, so is it worthy enough to don the name?
Cafe Reuben’s sandwich leaves an excellent first impression. The aroma invites eager eaters to partake in a special dining experience. The cooks prepare a seductive sandwich that begs to be consumed with its luxury of goods nestled comfortably between two fabulous pieces of marbled rye.
It is a complete sensory overload in the best possible way. The bread has a lovely crunch. Every flavor is loud and clear, yet all work together in a delicious harmony. Nothing is weak about this sandwich. Everything is strong. Flavors burst as one’s teeth sink in. The flavors set sail on the taste buds and take the eater on a voyage of tastiness. The salty, the sour and the cheesy all come together to create an unstoppable force. The liberal helping of cheese proves to be a smart move, helping bring the sandwich together.
The bread attracts hungry customers with its lovely marble, but the bread is a success aside from its appearance. It has a satisfying crunch, yet it’s never too much. The bread holds up the entire meal, never proving itself weak.
The corned beef is served in cubes rather than slices. Is a different choice that works and makes the sandwich unique. The corned beef has a strong identity and it fits this Reuben well.
Full of flavor, this is one of the best Reubens in the valley. For this, Cafe Reuben earns nine out of 10.
