Update: This event was canceled due to illness.

The French club will host a party for Mardi Gras from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in Room 203. Anyone from an LHS foreign language class is welcome to join.

This celebration is known as Fat Tuesday, and students will bring variety of foods. As a tradition, there will be a King’s Cake with a small plastic toy baby baked within. Whoever gets the baby usually bakes the next King’s Cake, according to Cynthia Yarno, the club adviser.

Along with the feast, Yarno, who teaches French and Spanish, plans for many surprises and festive activities — one of which is making masks.
