The LHS varsity girls basketball season ended Feb. 10, with a game against Moscow. The score was 40-41, a close match in which Lewiston lost by a single point.
This season was a long one, with defeats and wins, but good teamwork and determination all around. The team finished the season with a 7-15 record, including three road wins and four home wins. According to maxpreps.com, the Lewiston girls’ varsity basketball team is ranked 58th in Idaho’s Division 5A.
Paytland Schnell had the most points per game at 9.6. Furthermore, Schnell scored the most points this season with 191, according to MaxPreps.
Another team player, Avery Lathen, led the team in steals, blocks, and assists. Darta Serdane took the biggest number of rebounds, and Mia Mellinger had the most free throws.
The LHS girls varsity team includes: Avery Balmer, Madysen Bruce, Reagan Cahill, Callie Fisher, Josey Hemphill, Erin Lathen, Mia Mellinger, Kylese Samuels, Paytland Schnell, and Darta Serdane.
